We urge you greatly to discuss any maters we have covered or indeed any articles you feel we should be covering on our forum, here on this site.

Once again US President and so-called "Saviour" of the world Barack Obama has shown his true colours by appointing Bush (the War Criminal) and Bill Clinton (The Bohemian Grove attendee) to head the Relief to Haiti.

Obviously oblivious to Bush's past record over Hurrican Katrina, Obama thought it ok to appoint him in his heads of staff (along with Clinton) to head the relief fund in Haiti. Bush said "I know some people want to send blankets and some want to send water, dont give us your money, just send money and we will see it goes to the right place" .... Yeh sure, what right place would that be?

Whats more shocking tho is the fact that Icelandic relief efforts were reaching Haiti BEFORE the US relief efforts were? And when the USA relief got there what did they bring? Gunships and rifles! It has been rumoured there is Oil in Haiti, it has been said that this is the USA's move to now bring the "rebel slaves" in line... Its also been said that the whole thing was the actions of HAARP. Whatever it has been, its murder at the highest degree and we plead with people to see the Truth through all of this, if your giving to charity, make sure who you are giving to and where your money is going DIRECTLY.

Please post your thoughts in the forum.

Barack Obama, the US president, has agreed to abide by a 40-year policy of allowing Israel to keep nuclear weapons without opening them to international inspection, according to a US newspaper.

In a report on Saturday, The Washington Times quoted three unnamed sources as saying Obama had confirmed to Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister, that he would maintain the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

The incident reportedly occurred when the two met at the White House in Washington DC in May.

Neither Israel's embassy in Washington, nor the White House National Security Council would comment on the claim.

Avner Cohen, an Israeli expert and author, was quoted by the paper as saying that under the deal "the United States passively [accepts] Israel's nuclear weapons status as long as Israel does not unveil publicly its capability or test a weapon".

There is no official accounting of the deal, supposedly agreed in 1969 between Richard Nixon, then US president, and Golda Meir, the Israeli prime minister at the time.

'Strategic understandings'

In an interview last week with Israel's Channel 2 media company, Netanyahu spoke of his confidence that  Obama's recent remarks on a world free of nuclear weapons would not apply to Israel.

"It was utterly clear from the context of the speech that he was speaking about North Korea and Iran," the Israeli leader said.

"But I want to remind you that in my first meeting with President Obama in Washington I received from him ... an itemised list of the strategic understandings that have existed for many years between Israel and the United States on that issue.

"It was not for naught that I requested, and it was not for naught that I received [that document]."

Although there is no formal record of the understanding - nor have Israeli nor American governments ever publicly acknowledged it - some documents hint at an agreement between the two nations.

In 2007, the Nixon library declassified a July 19, 1969, memo from Henry Kissinger, then national security adviser, that comes closest to articulating US policy on the issue.

That memo says "while we might ideally like to halt actual Israeli possession, what we really want at a minimum may be just to keep Israeli possession from becoming an established international fact".

Viva Palestina! Support the convoy!

George Galloway MP, Yvonne Ridley and hundreds of British volunteers are driving an aid convoy of over 100 donated vehicles packed with practical aid to Gaza leaving from outside the Houses of Parliament, London on Saturday the 14th February. This remarkable convoy will be over a mile long and carry a million pounds of aid raised in just four weeks.

Volunteers will drive the donated vehicles from all over Britain to Westminster on Valentine’s Day to form the convoy which will then drive almost 5,000 miles together through France, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt where they will cross the border at Rafah into Gaza in early March.

The convoy includes a fire engine, 25 ambulances, a boat and trucks filled with medicines, cash, tools, clothes, blankets, and shoe-boxes filled with gifts for children. All this and more has been by donated by communities across the country.

George Galloway said, “No-one will send a vehicle that is not filled with items including pyjamas, clothes and blankets. Millions of people in this country care deeply, and we are going to show that.”

Each person travelling on the convoy is a self-financed British volunteer. The vehicles will be left with the people of Gaza; volunteers will fly home to the UK. Thousands of pounds cash has been fundraised and collections for donated goods and fundraising events are still taking place all over Britain.

The effort is being co-ordinated by the campaign group Viva Palestina and is supported by the Stop the War Coalition, the Respect Party, the Anglo-Arab Organisation, several British trade unions and a large number of Muslim organisations. George Galloway MP and journalist Yvonne Ridley will lead the convoy from London across France and Spain then North Africa to enter Gaza via the Rafah crossing.

If you'd like to help in Glasgow then you can contact the Islamic Relief Fund in Govanhill or email us viathis site and we can point you in the right direction. You can also check out the links below.

Please help us by making a financial contribution to help purchase further aid in Egypt.

In their darkest hour the people of Gaza must not be forgotten. Viva Palestina!

Movement grows to boycott israeli products across the UK and no more so in Scotlands own Universities.

Furious at Israel’s horrific siege of Gaza and inspired by the courageous people of Gaza, workers, students and progressive activists are organizing sit-ins, demonstrations and other acts of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Many groups are getting on board and endorsing the Palestinian-led call for an international campaign for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel.

Palestinian boy Mohammed kutkut, 14, right, covers his face as he sits next to the name sign of his killed friend Ahed Qaddas in the Fakhoura boys school in Jebaliya, northern Gaza strip, Jan. 24. Three friends in his class were killed when the Israeli army shelled Jebaliya in the past weeks

From South Africa, where union dockworkers heroically refused to unload an Israeli ship, to Irish activists, Basque unionists and students in Britain and the United States, momentum is growing in the struggle to cut ties to Israel.

Students across Britain, including Palestinian and Arab youth, have taken direct action and occupied 21 campuses to protest Israel’s military assaults on Gaza and to demand their schools end links to the Zionist state and to the British weapons maker BAE Systems, which arms Israel.

In London, students held sit-ins at Goldsmith University and the London School of Economics, among others. Similar protests spread through England to Birmingham, Sussex, Norwich, Warwick, Oxford, Leeds, Cambridge and elsewhere. Some protests have won concessions from university officials.

At Manchester University, 1,000 students equated Israel with apartheid-era South Africa and called on the administration and student union to boycott Israeli companies and support Gaza and the BDS movement. The student union agreed.

Strong sit-ins have been held in Scotland at the universities of Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and at Strathclyde.

Other solidarity actions continue. British MP George Galloway and 300 volunteers left Ramsgate Feb. 14 in a 110-vehicle caravan, whose vans, fire truck and ambulances were filled with community-donated food, medicine, clothes and toys to be donated in Gaza. Viva Palestine, Stop the War Coalition, Muslim groups and trade unions organized this 5,000-mile journey.

FREE DAZE... Sign the Petition... When your backs against the wall, turn around and write on it!

Now many of you would disagree that this is NOT vandalism, but its all up to your own perspective on whats art and whats not. personally speaking I think this is a nonsense!

We have over crowded prisons as it is! And we are sending people to jail for this! Even if it was an act of vandalism then whats wrong with community service in where Daze could be made to work with the youths on Youth Art projects? Thus channeling his "criminal" behavior in a more constructive manner... not to mention the community benefiting from him rather than paying for him.

And lets not be in any doubt the £270,000 worth of damage only comes to this amount when you add up the ridiculous contracts work they employ for companies to remove this ARTWORK! Also, as BTP said the delaying on trains on these specific lines in order to make it safe for a work force to remove this ART also helped make up the insane amount of money quoted.

If any of you have been to France, Holland, Italy and generally anywhere in Europe and indeed the rest of the world you will see along railways and motorways how Graffiti art is celebrated and beautifully decorates the roadside, like a 21rst century cave painting, a hieroglyphics, if you will, of youth culture, a culture in which is grossly misunderstood and looked down on by those who simply dont understand or even care about need for youthful expression here in the UK! I often think... have we not bigger fish to fry? More important issues to address?

And this is why I show my support Daze and all graffiti artists worldwide who find themselves under similar oppression. I hope you too agree with me and hope you add your name to the petition and also leave your thoughts on the forum!

ACLU RIPS PLAN TO TRACK R.I. STUDENTS WITH RFID CHIPS

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A tech company with ties to a school district plans to test a tracking system by putting computer chips on grade-schoolers' backpacks, an experiment the ACLU ripped Monday as invasive and unnecessary.

The pilot program set to start next week in the Middletown school district would have about 80 children put tags containing radio frequency identification chips, or RFID chips, on their schoolbags. It would also equip two buses with global positioning systems, or GPS devices.

Steven Brown, executive director of the Rhode Island chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, sent a letter to Kraeger and members of the school committee calling the plan 'a solution in search of a problem' and saying the school district should already have procedures in place to track where its students are. On Monday, he said the program raises enormous privacy and safety concern

Solidarity, Scotland's Socialist Movement - Press Release 16/12/07

Solidarity tonight declared its 100% support for our convenor Tommy Sheridan who has been charged with perjury by Lothian and Borders Police.

We have consistently stated that Tommy Sheridan has been the victim of a collossal vendetta by the Rupert Murdoch media empire. A vendetta that is rooted in Tommy Sheridan's role as a leader of the anti-poll tax movement that destroyed the career of Margaret Thatcher. As well as his uncomprinsing stand against racism, poverty, injustice and as a fighter for ordinary people against the billionaires that Murdoch and his press defends. This vendetta has increased in intensity and desperation following the defamation victory that Tommy Sheridan scored against Murdoch's paper the News of the World in 2006. The now possibility of a perjury trial is a continuation of this witch-hunt by the Murdoch empire.

Eastborn

Solidarity has and will continue to condemn the unprecedented and scandalous squandering of public money - running to hundreds of thousands of pounds - in pursuit of this police inquiry over the outcome of a civil defamation case. This inquiry has now culminated in nine police officers descending on Tommy and Gail Sheridan's home where Gail and their daughter were subject to an unacceptable eight hour ordeal.

Solidarity will continue to defend Tommy Sheridan and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all those fighting injustce, inequality and for the rights of ordinary working people. All those who want to see a new world free from poverty, war, discrimination and exploitation should support Tommy Sheridan.
