Eastborn is currently speaking with lawyers in Italy to get back funds that were collected for the Palestinian children...

Eastborn's appeal to Palestine sadly went sour when several members of the convoy turned out to be "alledgedly" working with the IDF and Israeli secret police. This was part of the attack on the Irish Flotilla where the rudder was cut and the stopping of the American Flotilla off the coast of Greece. Eastborn had collected (with your help) over £2000 plus a lot of Baby clothes, Toys, Electrical Goods and Sports Equipment. Some of this has been returned, but sadly the bulk of this and all the money is now involved in a bitter legal battle. Eastborn has pledged however to get to Palestine sometime in the next year or so. Some members of the Samouni Project did however manage to get to Palestine, but under a separate banner after being held in Egypt. We want to congratulate them and give them all our support and love.

Drop Zone Records headline act Eastborn will travel to Palestine with friend and Political college Ken O'Keffe....

Eastborn journey to Palestine as part of a convoy organised by Ken O'Keefe and the good people in the UK of the Samouni Project to help set up a school/community centre. Eastborn will help bring clothes, Toys, school books and more to children effected by the blockade imposed by Israel. We are looking for you all to help as much as you can. Reports are coming in that while the worlds attention has been focused on Libya and the terrible events in Japan that there has been extensive bombing in Gaza with over 20 deaths and many of whom children..

Again it comes as no surprise that the terrorist activities of the Israeli Government is going unchecked and worse still not even reported. Eastborn speaking on this subject said "If you look at the events going on currently in Libya and how quick the West is quick to condemn the events in Libya, its ironic that they turn a blind eye to what's going on in Yemen and Israel!"

Eastborn records with Dizzy Dustin of Ugly Duckling for Eastborn's next EP "Legends Die".

Eastborn had origonally planned to record with Dizzy for his album, but as he has done more tracks with other well known US and UK artists he has decided to release an EP (dedicated to Eastborn's close friend Sandy Malcolm who died recently). Eastborn and his Guerrilla Republic comrade Capital X will be touching down in the Danish capital Copenhagen early next year.

Eastborn who is good friends with the New York rapper was more than happy to be asked to work alongside Capital X in Europe. Eastborn who is also recording with Capital X, an artist himself who has worked and recorded with some of the greatest artists in Hip Hop at the moment such as Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Akir and more. Eastborn and Capital X's track will appear on Eastborn's long awaitied and anticipated album the "Global Warning". Rumors that Eastborn has also been recording with Prince Po and Ugly Ducklings Dizzy Dustin are indeed true. These tracks will be released on a prequel to the album out early next year. Normally we keep this section just for music news and the Politics to the politics section, however we have felt the need to break free of that tradition for this one occasion. We would like to FULLY CONDEM the actions of Israel and the events in the Mediterranean.

When we spoke to Eastborn (our headlining act) he dubbed this action as "Pirates of the Mediterranean", and spoke of another massacre committed by the illegal state of Israel. Furthermore we would like to support English rapper and activist Lowkey on his actions and speech made in London yesterday. It truly is great to see so many people getting behind the people of Palestine and saying enough is enough and no more to the horrible events being carried out time and time again against the people Gaza. The one positive that we can take from this, if any, are that more people are waking up to the injustice that is carried out by the Israeli Government. If you are in Scotland and would like to be part of the next Demonstration in support of the people of Gaza then please congregate in Edinburgh on the Mound (Off Princes's Street) June 5th at 2pm.

While trying to say away from comments like "Is Chile not as cool for you" Its hard not to. While "celebs" and other such people crowd around and make albums for Haiti the people of Chile have been left out in the cold quite literally. 13t from The 13th Tribe led the way and led by example by going out to Chile to help in the efforts of getting Chile back on its feet. Drop Zone Records Headline act Eastborn was taken into hospital just at the end of April and has spent several weeks in the Victoria Infirmary due to suffering a Pulmonary Embolism (Blood clot on the Lung) which, goes without saying, is potentially life threatening.

We are happy to report that Eastborn is now out of hospital and is recovering at home with friends and family. I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the many people who emailed us with your support from all over the globe, places and people like the BBC in London, ABC in Australia, Tommy Sheridan of the Political Party Solidarity, Prince Po of the legendary Organized Confusion, DJ Vadim, DJ A'La Fu, Mistah Bohze, Bill Breaks, Sons Of Scotland and that's just to name a few. Loki parts ways with Drop Zone Records

Its been spoke about alot on other forums and websites and mostly of what we have heard isnt really the whole truth of the situations, butthings seldom are these days. Firstly, Loki was signed to the label to release an EP with the hope of following it up with an album. Loki was free to record and work with anyone and any other label he liked. We valued Loki as an artist on the label but mostly we valued Loki as a good friend and a good person with his heart in the right place at all times. Loki decided that the music he had was better suited to be put on an album so instead of doing the EP he thought it was best to jump right into the album, which we agreed with. As it stood however, money was getting tighter and tighter and time was pasing by very quickly, too quickly for Loki's liking and admittedly too quickly for us at Drop Zone HQ. Funding was looked at from various small business outlets who let us down at each turn and so Loki felt rather than waiting longer to release something through Drop Zone Records he would be better looking at other labels and putting things out himself. As much as it was a pitty to lose him we agreed fully and respected his opinion. We do however hope to work with Loki in the future when more funds can be confirmed and made open to us. There is alot of work being done behind the scenes to confirm a larger more regualr income so we can support and promote acts exactly the way we want and exactly the way they deserve. Its far from over, infact we are only just starting.

Eastborn teamed up with the Glasgow Anti Racist Alliance (GARA) to work with Young Offenders at HMP Polmont.

During this years Black History month Eastborn was asked to go out to work with Young People that are currently serving time at HMP Polmont Young Offenders Institute. As part of a Hip Hop and Anti Racist Workshop program Eastborn went over Lyrics writing and stage performance, which in turn helps the Young People with their literacy and numeracy skills. This project and projects like these are close to Eastborn's heart as he said himself "its only one wrong move that you make in life can take ou the wrong route and end you up in prison, God knows I took the wrong route many times, but with a strong mother and father already in prison I had someone to pull me back out, these kids dont have that, but they do have alot of heart and I can see alot of me in them". Project Mayhem Creative Destruction Press Release

Project Mayhem comprise of the lyrical onslaught of Boomstick (born in Inverness and raised in Middlesbrough now Glasgow based) & DJ Leach - aka Versatile- (born and raised in Middlesbrough but is now based in York). Redragon (Spirits of Vengeance) completes the line up on production duties. Redragon himself was born and raised in Orkney but did stints in Dubai and Inverness before settling in Glasgow.

DJ Leach who rep's the 118 Soundsystem, Parthian Shot fam has known Boomstick since their early teens in Middlesbrough. Boomstick and Redragon wires crossed in Inverness and have known each other for five years now mashing up tracks and stage shows. Boomstick started writing at age seven and started going to battles at fifteen, this has not stopped since then. With his passion for battles he has lined up and knocked down some of the best and is a true asset to the Drop Zone Records role call. Collectively they have supported the likes of Princess Superstar and shared the stage with established UK Hip Hop artists Killa Kela, Part 2 (New Flesh for Old) and Roots Manuva.

Project Mayhem are currently working with various artists and producers nationwide Alpha-Betix (Thirty Tonne Slug Records), Fenna Rhodes and Beatboxer /producer Mowgli and more .DJ Leach is just set to release an EP with his other group 118 Soundsystem called "Beached" EP on Thirty Tonne Slug Records and will also feature heavily on Parthian Shot's forthcoming release "Year of the Rooster".

Although Redragon started out in a rock group "fiasco" he has always had a keen interest in Hip Hop and started emceeing in his late teens. Redragon is a man of many musical tastes and talents which more than stand out in his production. Still an Emcee but now more focussed on his production. Boomstick was reviewed to critical acclaim in Hip Hop Connection's demo section as ".dark witty lyrics with character and conviction delivered over supreme production finished off with razor sharp cuts.." took more than just HHC attention but that deep in the bunkers of Drop Zone Records, a flare was fired, the Enemies ran and Project Mayhem joined the growing ranks of the Drop Zone Records Legion.. Beware the second wave.

The Creative Destruction EP sees Project Mayhem link up with some of the best artists from both sides of the Atlantic for their debut EP, Iron Bridge from the UK and MUDD Canal from the USA both feature on this eight EP fight clubesque assault. From the melancholic lyrics to the down right nasty beats Project Mayhem hold the flag high for the north and wave it confidently as they race into battle, the only other flag that other Emcees can raise to Project Mayhem right now is a white one.

The EP will be available from all good Indi stores and online shops as well as available to download from iTunes, Napster, Yahoo Music and other regular digital download sites.
